Thomson is a variety of Dragon Fruit made by the California Rare Fruit Growers. It was named after California Rare Fruit Growers co-founder and Dragon Fruit researcher Paul H. Thomson. It is a large robust fruit that can weigh up to 2 pounds. The pulp is refreshingly flavorful, white in color, and it separates easily from its thick rind. This variety is self-pollinating and is also a high producer. The stems are very thick three-sided with small thorns. The white flower blooms are huge and nocturnal. This variety was acquired from a tropical nursery in California.
