David Bowie Dragon Fruit is a variety from the genus Hylocereus and the species undatus. The plant is very typical when compared to other Hylocereus undatus. Stems, flower bud, and flowers are nearly identical and self-pollinating like most. This fruit is slightly different with more fins than average and the taste of the fruit is uniquely different. It has typical white flesh and pinkish reddish skin and green fins. The taste of the flesh is sweet and tangy flavor with a lemony aftertaste. Sizes of fruit range from medium to large weighing up to a 1.25 pound. The plant overall is slower growing taking an extra year or two to fill in nicely. This variety was acquired from a grower in Florida.

Please use your discretion when placing an order during this Winter season. Dragon Fruit cannot handle freezing temperatures in transit. Spicy Exotics recommends checking the 10-day forecast from Louisiana to your destination. Anything lower than a Zone 9 can be in danger of plant damage this time of year. Spicy Exotics does not offer heat pack options.
